Get webpage to read offline

Since I don't have internet connection at home and I don't have time to read some interesting website at the office, I would like to download webpage and read it offline at home. I search the net to find some softwares which can help me do that. The search returns so many softwares which make it pretty hard for me to choose. I have tried some which are not so bad but the problem for me is that those programs download and save the file in page-per-page basis. And this means it will end up with thousands of files in my harddisk (some websites contain even more than that and make me wonder how they can do it). What is the problem with thousands of files in my harddisk? For me, more files mean more times needing to open directory, to search something. I don't like it. I need some ways to compress it. One way to do that is to compile all webpages into .chm format which is the windows help file. I have found some softwares to do it but I don't want to spend money.

Finally, I have found a simple solution. I have seen Aj Prida doing this before and I feel stupid that I forget. Using acrobat create pdf file from web page is the easiest way. I just open up acrobat and select file->create pdf from web page. That's it. All the webpages are downloaded and converted into a single PDF file!!! So simple!!!
